Pancopia is a private R&D and engineering company founded in 2014 that specializes in environmental and energy engineering. Located in Virginia, our personnel have several decades of experience providing sustainable environmental and energy solutions throughout the Commonwealth. Our staff has also worked on projects throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the country, and at several locations worldwide.
Pancopia was founded in 2014 in Hampton, VA by William (Bill) Cumbie, an engineer with more than 35 years of experience in the field. Although our company is young, Pancopia has achieved quite a bit. In only two years as a company, it has already won contracts with NASA and the United States Navy, been awarded more than $900,000 in research funding, and filed three patents. In the future, Pancopia hopes to remain a small research and development firm, continuing to create innovative, sustainable solutions to the world’s environmental problems.
Pancopia is located in the Peninsula Technology Incubator (PTI), an award winning facility located in Hampton, Virginia. In the past year, PTI affiliated companies have won several national awards for entrepreneurship, in addition to being named one of the top accelerator programs by the Small Business Administration.
PTI clients have direct access to world-class laboratory facilities, wind tunnels, water tunnels, destructive testing, anechoic chambers, and other laboratory equipment, as well as indirect access to the resources of nine universities through our parent organization, National Institute of Aerospace (NIA).
